Marselan is a black grape variety, originating from France, resulting from the crossing of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache Noir grape varieties. It was created in 1961 near Marseillan by researchers from INRA and ENSAM. It has been introduced primarily into the vineyards of Languedoc, the Rhône Valley, Spain, as well as on the northern coast of California, in Switzerland, Israel, and Montenegro.
